- The kitchen and dining hall should be well lit and ventilated.
- The wash basin should not be provided in the center of the hall. It should be positioned in the north, the east or the north east.
- The dining hall may be located on the ground floor. The seats for the boarders may be arranged to face the west and east.
- The diesel generator, the boiler, the chimney and the motor should be placed in the eastern south-east direction.
- The generator may be kept in the southern south east or in the north west too.
- The main air conditioner should be installed and operated from the south east. Having it in the north east direction should be avoided.
- If the rooms are furnished with individual air conditioners, then they should be installed in the south east.
- The floor may be utilized as a conference hall or as an additional dining hall.
- The retail stall dealing in confectionery and savories should be located in the north west. The sales man manning the counter should face north or east direction.
- The stall may also be in the north, the east or the north-east. The sales may could also face the north-west direction.
